Types of Exercise Bikes
Exercise bikes generally fall into three categories: upright bikes, recumbent bikes, and dual action bikes.
Upright Bikes
Upright bikes are basically like the traditional bikes we're used to, and they are the most popular choices amount exercise bikes. They provide a good cardio workout and can strengthen the muscles in the lower back. Upright bikes are fairly easy to fit into small spaces.
An example of an upright bike:

Recumbent Bikes
Recumbent bikes have chair-like attributes, bucket seats that provide better back seat than traditional or upright bikes. They allow for efficient blood flow through your body, and they're harder to cheat yourself with--the reclining stance of the recumbent bike prevents you from standing up to peddle.
An example of a recumbent bike:

Dual Action Bikes
Dual action bikes are like upright bikes except they have arm handles with movable bars. This gives you a full body workout and increases the aerobic intensity since it uses both your arms and legs. They strengthen and tone your upper body as well as your lower body. The downside is that you can't hold a book or magazine while using a dual action bike.
