Smooth 7.1 Power Folding Treadmill Review
Yikes. I've generally had good experience ordering things over the Internet, but this was a case of not trying before you buy and being disappointed. I wanted a solid treadmill but I also wanted something that folds because I live in a condo where space is limited. Because of this, I decided to look around online instead of buying something from a local store (the only folding ones I found locally were junk). I figured a treadmill with a $1500 price tag ought to be quality equipment.
Did I mention Yikes?
Problems encountered so far:
- Only part of the control panel/computer deal lights up.
- It rattles like a dying car when you run on the thing (ok I'm not super model thin but I'm not THAT heavy).
- Also, I haven't been able to get it to fold as advertised.
Maybe I'm just a twit that doesn't know how to get this stuff working right, but when I called the SmoothFitness customer service department for help, all I got was an answering machine. No one ever called me back.
For the record, the Smooth 7.1 works... it just doesn't seem to be high enough quality to justify the price. I never would have bought this treadmill if I could have tried it out first. That's my mistake and I've got to live with it (or pawn it off on some helpless sap on eBay...) but I'll think twice about ordering any fitness equipment site unseen again.
