Bowflex TreadClimber Information
So the time has come for you to get into shape. But you have decided that fancy gyms and show-off work out emporiums aren’t for you. You would rather sweat it out in the comfort of your own home. Now begins the arduous task of researching the various home gyms out there. You may have begun to consider the pros and cons of the Bowflex TreadClimber.
The Bowflex TreadClimber can be considered the new generation of Stairmaster. These machines incorporate a combination of movements. They allow you to walk forward, as you would on a traditional treadmill, and they allow you to step up, as you would while climbing a staircase. This concept makes some sense. Personal trainers have always preached that the concept of interval training, which is training by switching speeds, height levels and resistance levels during a regular cardiovascular workout, is the most effective way to train.
The Bowflex TreadClimber has some obvious pros. The Bowflex machines are all designed and engineered in the United States. They guarantee satisfaction. Customers are invited to use the machine for up to six weeks and if not completely satisfied with the results, they can return the machine for a full refund, less shipping and handling. Bowflex machines are constructed of high grade carbon steel and they were the manufacturer for Nautilus Commercial Fitness for 30 years. No gym equipment today can be purchased with a higher pedigree.
Besides the traditional claims of healthier bodies, weight loss, and feeling more fit, Bowflex also suggests their TreadClimber machines can help you to increase your energy and endurance levels, strengthen your muscles, encourage better posture, enhance your sleeping pattern, and even redistribute your weight!
I'm not sure about all that, but I have really enjoyed using the TreadClimbers my gym has. You burn more calories than with a treadmill or even an elliptical, and you feel like you're getting a good workout, but you're not dying the way you can feel on a stair machine.
The Bowflex TreadClimbers currently come available in three models, the Bowflex TreadClimber TC1000, the Bowflex TreadClimber TC 3000 and the Bowflex TreadClimber TC 5000. All the machines have the same frame design though the frames are different sizes. All three come with a training manual, an instructional video, and the “Fast Fat Loss Now” TreadClimber Body Leanness Program by Ellington Darden, Ph.D. The top of the line machine also comes with a machine mat intended to put under the TreadClimber to protect hardwood floors and carpets.
The sole disadvantage to the Bowflex TreadClimber is also a big one. It is identified by most personal trainers who have used the machine. It is the inability to adjust the resistance during the exercise routine. Even though there are twelve different resistance levels, adjustments cannot safely be made while you are exercising, so you actually have to step off and interrupt your workout routine every time you want to increase or decrease the resistance levels. This leads some personal trainers to conclude that despite providing a safe and effective low impact workout, the Bowflex TreadClimber is an expensive and bulky machine compared to similar home stair climbers.
So like most big ticket items, what you believe about it will depend largely on who you ask about it. And the best advice is always to do your research before you buy.
