Receiving/Assembling the Bowflex Power Pro

Shipped via UPS, my only slightly used Bowflex Power Pro arrived about 10 days after I paid. It came in two boxes filled with a whole bunch of black metal and plastic pieces entombed by mounds and mounds of those white Styrofoam thingies that stick to everything. The UPS men left the boxes on the porch, and from there I was able to lug them into the house without too much trouble. Total shipping weight was less than 100 lbs.

I quickly found out one of the perks of buying a Bowflex used. My seller had only disassembled it so far as was necessary for shipping. Little stickers marked what piece attached to what other piece. Assembly only took an hour, and I got my first workout in that very night.

I had been leery of buying a Bowflex used, but the unit arrived in good condition, with all the screws and everything there. After assembly, the only way you could tell it wasn't brand new was that one of the little sticky pads (where you put your feet for the leg press) was crinkled. That was something I could live with.

I have enough room in my place to leave the Bowflex fully assembled, but I did check out the folding feature. Originally, I screwed the screws that attach the bench of the Bowflex to the bar it pivots around a little too tightly and was unable to fold it. A quick loosening of the screws remedied the situation. Once folded, you can tilt the Bowflex back and wheel it into a closet or to another room if you wish (stairs might be pushing it).

My last step before beginning my workout program was to decide where to put my Bowflex.
