Body By Jake Ab Scissor Reviewby Simon Mann
First off, you need to realize that simply working the abdominal muscles won't give you that sixpack look. It's a combination of working your whole body, a healthy diet, and then focusing on your abdominal muscles. The Ab Scissor is a good machine for hitting the abdominals, though. I was really surprised. I didn't think you could get anything good off those TV infomercials. I received the Body by Jake Ab Scissor as a gift. I never would have bought something like this myself. I would have been missing out. Here's some more details on the Ab Scissor: It comes with of course the Ab Scissor, a workout timer, and workout exercise routines. It also has a 30 day moneyback guarantee. They won't cover the shipping though. Shipping and handling could run you about $50. The Ab Scissor is foldable so you could stick it in the closet or under the bed. It has little hand grip things that you hold. This really helps in targeting the abdominals. I find it much easier to hit those muscles just right with this machine than I ever did doing crunches or situps. The Ab Scissor has a seat that you sit on and a little foot rest. It works by having you scrunch up your abdominals just like with a crunch but it is just much more targeted. And also because there is resistance like the ab machines at the gym you definitely feel like you're getting more of a workout. Even though I was pretty lean when I started working out with the Ab Scissor I did see an improvement in my definition in the abdominal area. I also workout with free weights. I have a home gym set up in my basement so I pretty much just leave the Ab Scissor set up all the time and hit it at the end of my regular workouts. You do need to be careful with the Ab Scissor so you don't use your arms too much. It's possible to put some strain on your neck and back if you're not getting it right. You should definitely feel it in your abdominals and a little bit in your legs but not the rest of your body. Your arms of course help guide your body in the exercise but you should be able to squeeze your abs without pulling excessively with your arms. If you find your arms getting very tired I recommend slowing down and concentrating on your abdominals. The bad part is that the Ab Scissor is kind of expensive for a machine that only targets one area. I saw it for more than $250 retail at the mall. I probably only recommend it to someone who primarily works out at home and can afford spending money on this kind of stuff. It would be a good buy for someone who primarily works with free weights because it can be hard to target the abdominal muscles just with the free weights you typically have in a home gym. While I do recommend the Ab Scissor as I mentioned earlier you must realize it alone is not the key to weight loss or a carved midsection. It is just an exercise like any other that can help you target that area without rolling around on the floor doing situps that can hurt your neck and back. You still have to have a good diet and keep your body fat percentage low in order to see definition in your abdominal muscles.
